Lieutenant General Hodges 

Lieutenant General (Retired) Ben Hodges holds the Pershing Chair in Strategic Studies at the Center for European Policy Analysis. His last military assignment was as Commanding General, United States Army Europe (Wiesbaden, Germany) from 2014 to 2017. He retired from the U.S. Army in January 2018.

Lauren Buitta

Lauren is founder and CEO of Girl Security. Lauren began her career in national security in Chicago, IL in 2003 as a policy analyst with the National Strategy Forum, a nonpartisan national security think tank. In 2009 while attending law school, Lauren launched her consulting firm, Stele Consulting, which advised clients on urban security and policy challenges. In this role, Lauren managed one of the largest federal lawsuits ever filed against the City of Chicago for fair housing and related civil rights violations.

David Lyon

David Lyon is a global security and intelligence executive, currently working as a Director at the cyber threat intelligence company Flashpoint following nearly nine years at the Crumpton Group, an intelligence-led strategic advisory firm.

 

Mr. Lyon served for over a decade as an intelligence operative with the CIA's Directorate of Operations where he completed multiple overseas field tours. He has specialized training in human behavioral analysis and on-the-ground experience evaluating individuals' suitability for the most sensitive operations, often with life or death consequences.  He also served as a uniformed intelligence officer with the US Navy and was an Assistant Country Director for China within the Office of the Secretary of Defense. 

MJ Thomas

MaryJo “MJ” Thomas is Director of Security at General Dynamics Bath Iron Works. She is responsible for overseeing all BIW Security functions including cyber, industrial and physical plant security programs. She manages day-to-day activities and ensures compliance with all programmatic, regulatory, legal and contractual requirements for these areas. She has extensive experience in matters concerning national security and the protection of defense weapons and technology, with specific expertise in crisis and change management and investigative leadership.

 

Ms. Thomas served as the Section Chief for the FBI’s Counterproliferation Section from March 2017 to June 2020.

Dexter Ingram

An international counterterrorism (CT) and counter weapons of mass destruction (CWMD) strategist with more than 25 years of experience in the military, public, and private sectors. Led U.S. interagency delegations to Central Asia and North Africa focusing on nuclear smuggling and regional nuclear proliferation deterrence.

Currently serving the U.S. Department of State as a Special Advisor for the Defeat ISIS Coalition and Taskforce. Previous assignments include serving as the Senior Counter Terrorism Advisor to INTERPOL in Lyon, France; Senior Political Advisor in Helmand, Afghanistan; Deputy Director of the State Department's Office of WMD Terrorism; and as a senior liaison to both the FBI and the DHS.

Elena Bailey

Has over 17 years experience in the private and public sector, including intelligence, policy, and defense. She currently serves as the Senior Intelligence Specialist at the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). DTRA enables the DoD and the U.S. Government to prepare for and combat weapons of mass destruction and improvised threats and to ensure nuclear deterrence. The agency’s legacy extends back to the Manhattan Engineering Project that was created to develop the world’s first atomic bomb during World War II.

 

In addition to her service at DTRA, Elena is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, Master of Professional Studies in Applied Intelligence program, as well as, the Executive Director of Wild Things Media. She is also the Chief Executive Officer of Glocal, a technology company that she and David Taube cofounded.
